Transition and Implementation
Here are the Working Group's proposals on Transition and Implementation, working on the assumption that the Fellows and Members will approve the changes.
It is easy to think about how the new governance structure will look when it is embedded, but we also need to think about how to move from the old structure to the new - and make sure that the workload is manageable for College staff.
The Working Group is conscious that Council has already spent a lot of time on governance, so we have tried to make this as easy as possible by splitting Transition and Implementation into two.
First area
Based on recent feedback, we think that the question of how long the first set of terms of office should be is very important to Council Members. The red button below sets out options for this, and asks you to express a preference, which we will use to finish drafting the Laws.
UPDATE - there is now a page with details of first terms of office, based on Council's expressed preferences. You can get to this via the green button.
Second area
Again, based on recent feedback, we think that other parts of Transition and Implementation are also important to Council Members (eg the cycle of Council and Trustee meetings) - but we also think there is a reasonably obvious course of action.
The blue button will take you to a page that simply sets out current proposals, and Council Members are invited to let the Working Group if they have any questions or concerns.
(Polite reminder: as always, many of these topics overlap with each other. So a question that springs to mind at the beginning of this list might be answered by the time you get to the end of the list. )
A smooth journey from the current structure to the new structure
